I wrote this literally decades ago during a big hurt time and thought I had lost it until recently. It seems appropriate to post it tonight.
Pain
Sorrow
Heartache
No one understands
Christ knows
Lord turn
Pain into character
Sorrow into joy
Heartache into compassion
That I might be your arms of love to those
In pain
With sorrow
And heartache
So that they may know
You understand
